Spa Day Bachelorette Party - Venues

So you've decided to forego the traditional bar hopping bachelorette party in favor of something more intimate and creative - why not have a Spa Day Bachelorette Party?

This week I will be doing a six post series all about planning a fun, out-of-the-box Bachelorette Party: a Bachelorette Spa Day Party! Many brides are choosing to go with more creative and intimate ideas for their Bachelorette Parties and this one sounds relaxing yet fun! Today let's talk about where you can have your party hosted… because there is a wide variety of places you can go:

Local Spa - this is the most obvious! Larger local spas give you the choice of doing many different activities such as massage, facials, manicures/pedicures, and even relaxing in hot tubs/hot springs. Be sure to call in and set up appointments for your girls!

Local Nail Salon - you may not be able to get massages here, but if you just want to take all of your girls out to get manicures/pedicures, than going to a local nail shop is the perfect idea. You may want to call ahead to see if you will need an appointment… especially if you have a larger party.

Hot Tub Gardens/Hot Springs - depending on where you live, if you have a hot springs area near where you live - this is a GREAT option for going and relaxing with all the women! You will want to make sure everyone knows to bring their own towel (unless that is your party favor). Best of all, this option would be essentially free! If you don't live near hot springs, research hot tub gardens near you. These facilities have party hot tubs that can hold up to 12 people in a reserved room. You can bring champagne, snacks, and hang out in a relaxing hot tub all together.

Home Party - in this case, you can hire a masseuse to come to your home to give everyone massages, you can hang out in a hot tub if you have one at your house, and do each other's nails. This option is really nice if you also make your party into a slumber party and if the drinks are rolling - no need to leave for anything!

2015 New Year's Resolutions

Welcome to 2015! It's hard to believe that we are already starting out the new year - time just flies! We have decided, like so many other people out there, to start out our new year with some New Year's Resolutions for both our company as well as ourselves.

Our Goals for The Glam Finale in 2015 are:
  1. To Better Establish our Brand - through more exposure as well as better defining who we are as a company.
  2. To Participate in more local events/fairs - we have lined ourselves up with a nearly 1 show per month schedule for this upcoming year… and we are super excited to get back out there on a more regular basis this year!
  3. To establish a greater presence online with social media - that means we will be more active than ever before on our blog, our facebook, and our Etsy sites!

Krystal's Goals in 2015 are:
  1. To take on my new role of motherhood after the birth of my 1st child (hopefully that day will be coming soon… already past my December 30th Due Date!)
  2. To have a more active lifestyle - and to help my family have the same.
  3. To take more photos throughout the year so I can make Family Photo Books to document our year.

Jodie's Goals in 2015 are:
  1. ?
  2. ?
  3. ?

We really believe that 2015 is going to be a fantastic year for both our business and our personal lives! We are excited it is finally here!

What are your resolutions this year?

Have you started making your Christmas Cookie Party plans for the season? We definitely have!

We are a big fan of the Family Cookie Decorating Parties as well as Cookie Exchange Parties... but we wouldn't dream of having a cookie/baking party without some adorable holiday inspired aprons!

Here at Kitchen Glam, we have already started preparing for the Holiday Season and have released our first batch of Christmas Themed Aprons (Towel Aprons). Be sure to swing by our Etsy website to snag one of these adorable aprons while we still have them. (Just think of what a cute hostess gift they would make for a Holiday Party host as well!)

Family Leaf Crafts and Pumpkin Decorating

We can't believe it is already been a week in October! Fall has certainly arrived with the weather cooling down significantly and the leaves changing colors all around us. Today, we'd love to share with you some great ideas that we have come across this past week for some great fall family crafts and some fabulous ways to use pumpkins in your fall decorating!

There is nothing we love more about fall than the changing colors of the leaves! So this fall, we want to celebrate the fall colors/leaves with some fun leaf crafts! This website gives plenty of ideas... from turning the fallen leaves into crazy leaf creatures, creating leaf confetti, or using leaves and paint to make colorful leaf prints.

Another of our favorite ways to decorate is with pumpkins! Now that the pumpkin patches are all filled up with this year's crop, here are 5 great ways to use these gourds/or imitations of them in your Fall Decorating: (Click on any of the photos to be taken to a website with directions)

1. Patterned Paper Pumpkins - Make these great decorations using patterned card-stock and twine.

2. Glitter Monogrammed Pumpkins - Make these with your initials - or spell out a word with a few!

3. Painted Patterned Pumpkins - Use paint to make bold stripes or chevron on a pumpkin or three.

4. Ribbon Decorated Pumpkins - Use ribbon or trim to make a pumpkin stand out!

5. Bejeweled Pumpkins - Make these pumpkins using jewels from Michael's and other embellishments. (This would also make a beautiful decoration/centerpiece for a Fall Wedding)

We are loving all of these ideas and can't wait to use some of them for decorating our homes this Fall!

5 Fall Squash Recipes

One of my favorite things about the fall is the revival of squash recipes. I just love cooking squash of all kinds - it's delicious, nutritious, and certainly brings about the fall spirit.

Today I would like to share 5 squash recipes that each require a different kind of squash - most people are familiar with butternut, acorn, and spaghetti squashes... but I would also like to include some of the not so familiar for cooking - pumpkin and buttercup. To get to the individual recipes, simply click on the photo to be redirected!

1. Twice Baked Butternut Squash - I LOVE butternut squash and this recipe looks simply amazing. A must try for the fall this year!

2. Roasted Winter Squash with Brown Butter and Sage - a fall squash classic!

 3. Lasagna-Stuffed Spaghetti Squash - this year will be my first time cooking a spaghetti squash... I am very excited to try it out!

4. Coconut Curry Pumpkin Soup - I've never cooked with pumpkin before... but this sounds delicious! Coconut curry is already amazing and I'm sure the pumpkin adds a delicious touch to it!

5. Buttercup Squash Casserole - this recipe is essentially a squash-mashed potato type dish, but seasoned with sweetness (brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chives) = yum!

I've already got two of the five squash in my kitchen cupboard... can't wait to try all of these recipes this fall! What is your favorite squash recipe? How about most unique squash recipe?
